This simple recipe is a wonderful way to indulge in wellness from the inside out. Ingredients
- 6 cups apple cider
- ¼ cup real maple syrup or honey
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 6 whole cloves
- 6 whole allspice berries
- Peel from 1 orange, cut into strips
- 1 inch cube of fresh ginger, sliced into strips
- *2.5 tsp per serving of hydrolyzed collagen, optional
Directions
- In a medium stainless steel saucepan, combine apple cider and maple syrup (or honey).
- Place cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice berries, orange peel, and ginger strips in a square of washed cheesecloth. Gather the corners, tie with kitchen string to create a spice bundle, and drop it into the saucepan.
- Heat the cider mixture over medium heat until it’s very hot but not boiling, about 5–10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and discard the spice bundle.
- *For an added glow, add 2.5 tsp of collagen powder for each serving to a dry mug or cup. Ladle in the cider, stir well, and enjoy!
For an extra touch, garnish each serving with a fresh cinnamon stick.
